Gravediggers:


Army Composition

An army made using this theme force can include only the following Cygnar models:

· Cygnar warcasters

· Non-character warjacks

· Ranger models/units

· Trencher models/units solos

Special Rules

· This army can include up to one non-character Mercenary unit with Captain Jonas Murdoch attached to it.

· For every 20 points of units/structures in this army, you can add one Trencher weapon crew unit, command attachment, or solo to the army free of cost. Free units do not count toward the total point value of units in the army when calculating this bonus

· Trencher warrior models in the army gain Rise. (If a model with Rise is knocked down at the beginning of your Maintenance Phase, it stands up.)

· You gain +1 to your starting roll for the game.


Unit concepts:


Colonel Markus ‘Siege’ Brisbane (Warcaster)

Siege 2 should be a trench line breaker. His spells and feats should allow for aggressive play to push through enemy lines. He should personally remain a viable melee threat at all stages of the game while affording his army the survivability and punch required to push through an enemy force. His rules should tie into tactical brilliance and support options for units.

Triumph (Warjack)

Triumph is Siege’s personal jack. He should encapsulate both long range firepower and the durability to survive on the front lines of a breaching mission. Please specifically keep in mind the rules for both Siege 1 and 2 when evaluating Triumph.

Grenadier (Warjack)

The Grenadier is the preferred jack of the Trenchers. There should be a strong synergy between the Grenadier and/or its Jack Marshal or the Trenchers surrounding it.

Trencher Infantry/s (Unit/Command Attachment/Rifle Grenade)

Trencher Infantry are the highly trained line infantry of the Cygnaran military. They should have MAT/RAT/DEF stats to represent their prowess in combat and strict training. Armed with rifles the unit is ranged focused. Dig In and Smoke are two iconic trencher abilities and are a defining part of this unit. Rules should take this into account and interact favorably with these abilities.

Trencher Commandos (Unit/Command Attachment/Scattergunner)

Trencher Commandos represent the Trencher Infantry that have proven themselves capable. They are the ones sent in for particularly tough objectives and are trained to cross No Man’s Land and survive to tell the tale. They should be focused on the concept of fighting inside enemy trenches and have almost a hit-and-run style play to them. Between their Command Attachment and Scattergunners they should be a strong anti-infantry unit that can hold down an objective once they clear it.

Trencher Long Gunner (Unit/Command Attachment)

Trencher Long Gunners are one of the long range fire support options to a Trencher force. With their long range repeating rifles the unit is similar to standard Cygnaran Longgunners but has a Trencher template put over it. They should be similar to standard Long Gunners but essentially be a more elite version.

Trencher Mechanics (Unit)

Similar to the Trecnher Long Gunners, the Mechanics are what keeps the jacks running in a Trencher force. Because they are trenchers, a certain level of training is given to these Mechanics making them combat ready.

Chaingun Crew (Unit)

The anti-infantry weapon crew of the trenchers. A chain gun crew should be a significant threat to infantry targets while not causing worry to warjacks.

Cannon Crew (Unit)

The true artillery of a Trencher force, the Cannon Crew brings the armor punch that a Chain Gun or Blockhouse does not. Anti Armor is the design goal of this model.

Express Team (Unit)

The Express team is a mobile high powered weapon. It should have a place as a utility piece that can threaten targets of all sorts.

Rangers (Unit)

Rangers are the reconnaissance teams of the Cygnaran military. Relaying information back to the troops, the Rangers should fill a support role while utilizing terrain to stay alive.

Captain Jonas Murdoch (Command Attachment)

Murdoch is the man who finds, hires, and commands mercenary units when they are deemed necessary to a trencher force. He should show leadership abilities for his unit and help make them a viable choice in the army.

Trench Buster

The Trench Buster is an Ogrun auxiliary that fights alongside trencher units. He should synergize well alongside trencher units and bring a durable hard hitting model to the field.

Trencher Master Gunner (Solo)

A pure support model to the weapon crews of a trencher force. His rules should benefit weapon teams and be a power multiplier inside of the army.

Trencher Warcaster Lieutenant (Solo)

This is a journeyman warcaster that has been through trencher training. Its spells should be relevant to the idea of trench warfare and supporting those models around itself.

Maxwell Finn (Solo)

Finn is the greatest Trencher to have ever lived. His combat prowess knows no bounds, simply seeing Finn on the battle field empowers other trenchers to fight harder. Finn is a combat solo with veteran leader. Finn should hold his own in combat, be difficult to remove, and help support other trencher units.

Major Harrison Gibbs (Solo)

Gibbs is a support solo for the Laelese resistance. In a trencher army he brings Hot Meal to the army and allows for individual purchase of a rifle grenade that can operate independently of a trencher infantry unit.

Commander Anson Hitch (Solo)

As a trencher commander through and through, Hitch’s brilliance on the battle field manifests in his battle plans. Hitch should be a back-line support solo that helps his units either survive or make them more effective in combat.

Patrol Dog (Solo)

The Patrol Dog is the battlefield helper that every trencher has grown to love. By pointing out enemies, warning of incoming attacks, and sniffing out the enemy, the Patrol Dog gives many benefits to a trencher army.

Trencher Blockhouse (Structure):

The Blockhouse is the fortification that is erected at defensive positions around the front lines. A place for Trenchers to rest or hide from incoming fire, the blockhouse holds reinforcements for the units deployed around it. With a substantial cannon it can act as fire support for the army.
Long Gunners (Unit/Command Attachment)

Because of the release of Trencher Long Gunners we’ve decided that Long Gunners should be balanced alongside them. Long Gunners are the less-elite version of Trencher Long Gunners.
